— Lawn & Orders website Before and After 🔥 —
The Challenge
James, owner of Lawn and Order, had built a strong reputation for his garden and landscaping business, but his old website was outdated and no longer fit for purpose. The site didn’t reflect the professionalism of his work, and it was difficult for potential customers to find or contact him. More critically, his website wasn’t ranking well on Google, meaning his visibility in local search results was poor. To make matters worse, he didn’t have a Google My Business profile, further limiting his chances of being discovered by potential clients.
James needed a fresh, SEO-optimised website that was easy to navigate and would help him attract more local business.

Our Solution
We approached the Lawn and Order project with a complete redesign, ensuring James’s new website not only looked great but also delivered in terms of functionality and local SEO. Here’s what we did:
1. Full Website Redesign
We transformed the old, clunky design into a modern, professional site that reflects the quality of Lawn and Order’s services.
Key Features:
- Eight dedicated service pages: Each key service—beekeeping, commercial gardening, fencing, lawn care, hedge trimming, etc.—now has its own detailed page, improving SEO and making it easier for customers to find exactly what they’re looking for.
- Gallery and Projects Section: We added a dedicated gallery and project showcase, highlighting Lawn and Order’s best work with before-and-after photos, allowing potential clients to see the quality of the services offered.
- Responsive Design: The new website is optimised for both desktop and mobile, ensuring that users have a seamless experience no matter which device they use.
Focused on the Primary Call to Action (CTA): Get a Free Quote
The new website was designed with a clear commercial objective in mind: to encourage potential clients to request a free quote. We made sure the ‘Get a Free Quote’ call to action was front and centre on every page.
- Custom Contact Form: The contact form now allows users to upload photos of their property, enabling James to give more accurate quotes based on real visuals.
- WhatsApp Integration: A WhatsApp widget was added to the site, making it easier for potential customers to communicate quickly and directly—perfect for tradespeople who prefer fast, informal communication.
Focused on User Experience
We made sure the site looks great and works smoothly on desktop and mobile. Many of James’s customers are on the go—they search for services from their phones. Now, they can easily find him, no matter what device they use.
Navigation was streamlined, making it simple for visitors to find services, see completed projects, or contact James directly. A clear, intuitive structure ensures potential clients don’t get lost in the process. And, as part of the design refresh, we even redesigned his logo. James had lost the original files, so we redrew the bees and stitched the logo back together, giving it a crisp, professional look that matches his new site.
SEO and Technical Optimisation
James’s old website wasn’t showing up in local searches like it should have. To fix this, we followed SEO best practices and targeted the keywords he wanted: “gardening” and “landscaping” for the Watford and Hertfordshire area. We made sure his main keywords and locations were included in H1 headings and page titles. It’s a small change with a big impact on visibility.
On the technical side, we dug deep. As a marketing and website agency, we know that even the smallest SEO tweaks can add up over time. Here’s what we did:
✅ Ensured the website is crawlable and indexable by search engines, making it easy for Google to understand and rank.
✅ Set up a SSL certificate for secure browsing.
✅ Avoided any thin content—each page offers valuable, detailed information.
✅ Every page now has one title tag and H1 tag using relevant keywords.
✅ Added 3-5 internal links per page to help users navigate and 1 outbound link for credibility.
✅ Optimised titles and meta descriptions for better click-through rates.
✅ Positioned the H1 tag ‘above the fold’ for immediate relevance.
✅ Structured all heading tags correctly to improve readability for both users and search engines.
✅ Used NLP (Natural Language Processing) optimization for better semantic understanding.
✅ Included 100% unique images directly from James’s Checkatrade account, giving an authentic touch.
✅ Implemented schema markup to help Google understand the website’s content structure.
✅ Organised site links for better navigation and search appearance.
These adjustments might seem small on their own, but together they compound to deliver significant improvements. As a result, the Google PageSpeed Insights score hit 92/100, meaning the site loads quickly, keeping visitors engaged and helping with Google rankings.

Connecting the Dots with Google
James didn’t have a Google My Business profile, so we set one up for him. Now, when potential clients in the area search for garden services, Lawn and Order pops up with positive reviews, contact info, and directions. This is crucial, especially since James has over 190 10/10 reviews on Checkatrade—a testament to his credibility and hard work.
We also linked his site to Google Search Console and Google Analytics. This helps us keep track of how well the site is doing and make adjustments if needed. It also ensures that Google is properly indexing the new site, so it appears in search results.
The Results
James now has a website that truly reflects the quality of his work: Lawn and Order. It’s easier for customers to find him, understand his services, and reach out for a quote. And the new site’s faster load times and improved mobile experience mean those visitors stick around longer 🔥
By creating a modern, user-friendly website and setting up the right tools, we’ve helped Lawn and Order turn online searches into real-world clients. James is now ready to grow his business with a solid digital foundation.
Working with James has been a pleasure. He’s the kind of client we love—hard-working, reliable, and committed to his craft. With his new website, he’s now able to showcase his expertise in a way that matches the great work he does in real life.

“Harry has done an amazing job on my new website. It looks fantastic and is much easier for my customers to use. I’ve already noticed more enquiries coming through, and the ‘Get a Free Quote’ feature is brilliant—it saves me time and gives my clients more accurate quotes. Highly recommend!”
